50 were built in the period 1970-1972 and were in use until the end of guards vans in 1986. Several still remain in use as work crew cars and rolling storage, as well as being preserved.

Two piece (body and floor) casting of a VLX/VLCX louvre van. It uses the Fybren/Union Mills Models injection moulded VLCX as a basis, so it feature injection moulded detail. This is a modified version where the doors lacked louvres, a common variation (1,2 or no louvres could be on each door. Includes Micro-Trains bogies and couplers and VLINE decals.
